Social Media and Content Manager

Fulaba provides statement jewelry connected to and inspired by African High Culture. Fulaba has been featured in Essence, Allure Magazine, Refinery29 and more. Our jewelry has been worn by celebrities and influencers, including Alicia Keys. Our collections include Fulani jewelry made in Guinea, Wolof jewelry made in Senegal and signature jewelry made in the U.S.

Fulaba products are sold online primarily to customers in the U.S. and Canada. We have had our strongest year in sales even through a pandemic and are in the process of raising seed funding to scale our business and introduce more jewelry that represents the royalty and nobility of various African ethnic groups – African High Culture.

We are looking for a part-time Social Media and Content Manager based in Dakar, Senegal to post compelling imagery and content on Fulaba’s social media pages (Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest) and website targeting users to grow social following and increase brand engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Post at least 5 times per week on relevant Fulaba social media pages (Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest).
  • Target users in related communities of African fashion, jewelry, and lifestyle to establish growth of followers and engagement across Fulaba social pages by commenting on other posts and following influential profiles.
  • Capture relevant lifestyle imagery in Dakar and conduct mini-photo and video shoots as directed by Fulaba Founder.
  • Coordinate with Customer Engagement and Fulfillment Manager on customer or fan inquiries via social channels.
  • Write two relevant blog posts per month for Fulaba site.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual – French & English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to details.
  • At least two years in a similar role – can be for a school club or organization.
  • Extremely adept, well versed and passionate about all things social media.
  • Self-starter, ability to work autonomously and with a small team.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing dynamics, which is typical at a start-up.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn and grow, enthusiasm for African fashion and jewelry.
  • Some college education.
  • Must be based in Dakar, Senegal.
