The lands of Africa and Arabia (once one) can attest to its plethora of kings and queens and the wealth they amassed. One queen’s story however, Makeda – the Queen of Sheba intrigues us more than others with her visit to King Solomon recorded in the Qur’an and the Bible. In her search for knowledge and wisdom, she traveled to see King Solomon with a caravan of close to 800 camels, donkeys and mules packed with treasures of her empire including gold, silver, precious stones, amber, rare woods and myrhh. Upon seeing the magnificence of King Solomon’s palace and his impeccable character, along with her throne, she submitted to the religion of Solomon and they married.
